Refurbished Ipods

Getting a great deal on refurbished ipods isn’t as hard as you may think.
Ok, you want the latest hotness, but you don’t want to pay full price for it. So you’re thinking, “If I can find a source I trust enough not to sell me a piece of crap, I might actually go for it.” Well, we agree with you. Who wants to pay full price when you can just pay a fraction for the same thing. And no one has to know that your $200 ipod was really one of the many $75 refurbished ipods, right?
There are a few things we want to suggest to you prior to taking the leap and making the purchase… before you part with your hard earned cash, gift card, whatever… We suggest you purchase from online stores where you already know they have quality customer service, or the vendors on that site have some kind of rating system to which you can refer to prior to buying. I mean, if you get a $200 ipod for $75, but it breaks a week later, you actually lost $75 instead of saving $125. I know that may seem obvious, but sometimes people get excited when they see that “deal of a century” and jump too soon.
So, we suggest trying marketplaces like Amazon.com. Why? Because there are reviews on the products and vendors from people that have already purchased. This is invaluable information. When you see 50+ reviews with a 4+ star average rating, you already know you can pretty much trust what the merchant is doing. You can even search through the reviews and find those that did have a problem, and if they’re happy with the way the seller took care of it. You can even check Apple.com as they have a refurbished section and they’re generally good about customer service issues.
If you must go fully rock bottom in price, then go to ebay.com. For refurbished ipods, we suggest going with powersellers only that have a high percentage of positive comments, and that clearly post their refund policy on the auction. You’ll probably find most don’t offer a refund policy, but look around and you just might.
Another thing to consider before you jump in is if the sellers at any of the above mentioned marketplaces offer the cable(s) and manual(s) with the ipod. The manual isn’t that big of a deal, because you can usually find that in .pdf (Adobe Acrobat) format online for free. But the cable will cost you if it isn’t included. Don’t fall into that trap and end up unhappy with your purchase.
Well, we hope we helped you in your considerations with refurbished ipods purchases. Now go forth without fear and think before you buy!
